I’m so excited to have you here!  I’ve been waiting for this day to come and it has finally arrived!

Our first bible study series together will be Scouting the Divine by Margaret Feinberg.  The study will begin on Monday, September 9, 2013.  I will be introducing the study on that day.  You will not need to have completed any assignments for the first day.   We will be covering the first week assignments on Monday, September 16, 2013.

So, what does that mean?

I would love to have you join me online for 7 weeks in studying this bible study selection.  Each week will cover a different chapter in the workbook.  You do the workbook assignments at home and then, each week, log in and come to this site for discussion in the comment section or you can also visit the Facebook site and discussion will also take place there.  I will be posting topics and questions each week that relate to the material we will have studied during that week’s assignment.

What is the study about?

An encounter with a shepherdess intrigued Margaret Feinberg to spend time with her to better understand the livelihood of shepherding in the bible.  This experience led her to seek out and spend time with others who work in other biblical livelihoods such as a beekeeper, a farmer and a grape grower.  The insights and information they shared with her,  she shares with us bringing the scriptures alive in a fresh and meaningful way.

I’m really interested but, how do I get a book?

If you go to church with me or live in my vicinity, let me know you want to do the study.  I have already pre-purchased some books and I’ll be happy to put your name on one and leave it in the church office or some other convenient place for you to pick it up.

I really don’t know if I want to study by myself?

Consider inviting a friend to do it with you and meet together for discussion time or if you live locally, you can join us at First United Methodist Church, Clinton MS on Monday mornings at 9:30 or Monday evenings at 6:45 for group discussion time.

How hard is the study? I’ve never done a Bible study before and I feel really intimidated.

The study is not hard and will only require a small amount of your time to finish the week’s work before we meet the following week for discussion.  Like any new skill, a little patience, time and practice will make your bible skills grow.  As my friend Jena says, “a little study is better than none at all.”

I’d really like to hear what others think about the study.  How can I do that?

I suggest that you leave a comment on the bottom of the page.  The comment section is where most of the discussion will take place.  Also, you can visit the Sweeter Than Honey Ministry Facebook page.  I will be answering comments or questions throughout each week on the site.

I’d really like to chat privately or know that you’re right there when I have a question.

I’ve linked a Facebook account to this site.  You might consider becoming a follower and liking the Facebook page.  Each Monday at 8AM-9AM, I will be logged onto my computer and answering any questions or comments anyone has about the study on the Facebook page.  My friend, Nancy, will be doing the same except she will be available at 9PM-10PM on Monday nights.

I can’t do the study now but I can later.  Is there any way I can still see the discussion or the questions?

Yes, I plan to keep the study in the archives.  I will not be deleting the posts.

I have established a prayer page on this site for requests.  Click on the tab under the header and you may leave your request on that page.   I have a group that will be praying for requests.
